Our experienced audiologist can identify if your child has a hearing loss, create a management plan and liaise with your GP so they can make informed decisions on your child’s health.
Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) is thought to affect about 5% of the population. It is a disorder in which the ears can hear normally but have difficulty processing and interpreting speech.
For children affected by CAPD, it can be difficult to concentrate and understand conversations and instructions in more complex environments such as when there are distracting noises like in classrooms. This can lead to learning, language and reading difficulties, increased fatigue and social withdrawal.
Earwax builds up naturally in the ear canal and helps keep the ear clean. However when ear wax builds up, it can cause discomfort like earaches, dizziness, mild hearing loss or ringing in the ear.
Parents shouldn’t attempt to remove earwax at home, even with remedies that promise to be safe and effective. Doing so risks damage to the ear
Microsuction is a comfortable and safe alternative to ear syringing and recommended by Ear nose and Throat specialists.
