We are the Gold Coast’s leading paediatric and complex hearing clinic. Offering specialist audiology services to infants through to adults with their hearing needs. From hearing tests, tinnitus assessments, auditory processing disorder, sound sensitivities, dizziness and balance, hearing aids, cochlear implants, ear protection and wax removal.

Sara Patterson – Principal Audiologist & Owner

Master of Clinical Audiology (MClinAud)

Sara is a highly experienced and nationally accredited audiologist with over a decade of dedicated service in the hearing health sector.

She has extensive experience working with children, adults and patients with complex needs, including neurodiverse children and patients living with memory loss.

Working in the hearing aid industry and at the Gold Coast University Hospital Sara has developed a detailed understanding of the impact hearing loss can have on communication and the overall comfort of her patients.

Sara has been actively involved in outreach trips to remote regions of Western Australia and the Northern Territory to support the remote indigenous communities.

In 2019 Sara founded Coastal Audiology on the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales with the goal of making hearing health more accessible for the whole family. Her clinic rapidly transformed to providing specialised support to children and young adults facing the challenges of hyperacusis, misophonia, tinnitus and auditory processing difficulties.

Sara is a member of Audiology Australia, Independent Audiologists Australia and nationally recognised as an accredited audiologist.

Sara is committed to providing best practice treatments for her patients, focusing on a tailored approach to suite the individual’s needs. At Coastal Audiology, Sara is continuously thinking outside the box and goes above and beyond for patients

Mackenzie Harris - Audiologist

Master of Clinical Audiology (MClinAud)

Mackenzie is our star Audiologist with experience working across both adult and pediatrics, including rehabilitation and diagnostic services.

Prior to completing her Master’s of Audiology at the University of Queensland, Mackenzie studied a Bachelor of Psychology in the United States of America, whilst on a swimming scholarship.

Her professional interests include Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) and vestibular assessment.

Mackenzie is a member of Audiology Australia, and nationally recognised as an accredited audiologist.

Fun fact: I’m a proud dog mum to my miniature dachshund, Phil — and more recently, a cat mum to my kitten, Penny.

Sara we found on fb through a group, and we have been travelling from Toowoomba, because she is the first person to actually want to help and get to the bottom of what may be going on for my daughter. My daughter has seen a couple other audiologists since she was 5, and she has had fluctuating results and persist pressure. Each time told to just come back in X amount of months. This has been ongoing for almost 4 years now. Sara is the first one to piece it all together, care, go above and beyond. She didn't try to make my son fit the testing process, instead she adapted to him and helped him to find his way through the testing process which allowed us to get the most important information and as much information as we could in a 2 year old who hadn't had success at other more retail-like audiology practices.
