Independent Audiologists Australia (IAA) presented its inaugural Awards at its 2025 Audiology Unchained conference in sunny Queensland, Australia.
The 2025 IAA Awards celebrated excellence in independent audiology. IAA executive officer, Ms Julie Watts, said ‘the awards recognised members who embodied the organisation’s values of quality, integrity, and independence, and who made outstanding contributions to their colleagues, clients, and communities’.
Sara Patterson (owner/director) Coastal Audiology – was awarded the Independent Audiologists Australia (IAA) Practice Innovation Award, as voted by her industry peers. She was recognised for her fresh approach, service models and use of technology to improve patient care and clinic operations. The IAA award celebrates innovation that sets a benchmark for the audiology profession.

The annual conference was held at Mantra Mooloolaba Beach on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland on the 17 to 18 October 2025. It featured two days of lectures, interactive workshops, group sessions, a trade exhibition and gala dinner.
